Mother Elisabetta became the directress of the Conservatory during a period marked by uncertainty. The institution's future hung in the balance, facing challenges threatening its stability and reputation, mainly due to negative influences from groups like the Masons. Recognizing the pressing need for revitalization, Elisabetta purchased the Conservatory, demonstrating her commitment to the Conservatory's legacy and potential. Central to her approach was the adoption of a deep spiritual life, which she believed would serve as a solid foundation for the community.

At the heart of our life
We are shaped by the Eucharist and the Word of God. Our spirit of prayer is nourished through participation in daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and reciting of the Divine Office. We also commit to praying the Rosary each day and having a particular devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, the patroness of our Congregation.
The Eucharist is central to our life as Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows. It is the source and summit of our daily existence, drawing us to contemplate the Paschal Mystery of our Lord. Daily Mass provides the grace to unite ourselves with Christ, who sacrificed Himself for us. The Eucharist is a gift in which Christ offers Himself, helping us live our lives as a gift in return. The phrase from our Foundress, "Alleluia dwells beyond Calvary," emphasizes the hope and joy that transcends suffering, that even amidst trials, there is a promise of resurrection and redemption.
Mother Elisabetta left her daughters a love of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the model of our life. By praying the Rosary, we are drawn deeply into the mystery of Jesus Christ's life through Mary's eyes. The Rosary sustains us in our consecration as we strive to become more and more conformed to Christ in the company of Our Lady.

I would like for all my being to be silent and for everything in me to adore Him.
Oh, that I may remain always in the great presence of God.
