By virtue of our baptismal and religious consecration, we are catechists by vocation. Therefore, following the example of our Foundress, we experience the strength and urgency of a catechesis, which is the true school of Christian education.

From the beginning of the Congregation, Blessed Elisabetta firmly believed that God should be an integral part of our lives. In her teachings to young women of her time, she guided them to dedicate their lives to God. Our Congregation was founded in response to a desperate need for sound catechesis. Mother Elisabetta’s primary goal was to fulfill this need through catechesis and evangelization.
The Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, attentive to the needs of the Church today, continue in the footsteps of our Foundress by proclaiming the Gospel through catechesis and evangelization. We engage with teens through summer camps, conduct vacation Bible school, and participate in college campus activities. Inspired by the example of our Foundress, Blessed Elisabetta Renzi, a dedicated, talented, and sincere leader in parish life, we approach our apostolic activities in the local Church with a sense of commitment. Our mission in the parish is carried out with generous dedication to God and animated by the great love of Our Lady of Sorrows, patroness of our Institute.
CATECHISTS BY VOCATION
Founded in Italy in 1839, our Congregation has dedicated 186 years to our passion for education. Inspired by Blessed Elisabetta Renzi, we commit ourselves to shaping hearts and minds, creating learning environments where faith, compassion, and personal growth can thrive.

There is no vacation from catechesis.
Blessed Elisabetta Renzi
