Following the example of our Foundress, Blessed Elisabetta Renzi, who profoundly expressed, “I would like for all my being to be silent and for everything in me to adore Him. Oh, that I may always remain in the great presence of God,” we are reminded of the centrality of prayer in our lives.
Prayer is at the heart of our community and mission. We know that it is only through union with God that our consecration becomes effective, our faith is strengthened, and Christ is able to speak within us. Living in a spirit of prayer enables us to live in the constant search for and faithful accomplishment of God’s will, his service, and his glory.
Christ calls us to share our lives and witness his love together. Our religious community is the foundation of our communion with Christ. Jesus is the center of our identity, empowering us to witness his love and mercy. We value living in community, which defines our commitment as consecrated women in the Church, characterized by a true family spirit.
The Constitutions of our Congregation states that, “The Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows place Jesus at the center of their Christian, cultural, and human search for truth. They provide a complete intellectual formation of the students and the nurturing of virtues that will shape and accustom them to living the new life in Christ, and to work with him to build up the Kingdom of God."
"It is gratifying to give everything to the One who is everything." Blessed Elisabetta Renzi
