Include us in your will
By making an endowment in your will, you may allocate any amount to the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows free of estate tax. You can assign a dollar amount or a percentage of your estate, with or without restrictions. We recommend that you obtain counsel of professional advisers and an attorney who specializes in estate planning.
Donate by making the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows the owner and beneficiary of your insurance policy.
You may receive a charitable tax deduction when you donate stocks, bonds, or other securities based on the value of the securities at the time you make a donation. You may also avoid long-term capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the securities. Consult your tax advisor for more information.
Many business and corporations will match the charitable donation made by their employees. Check with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program. If so, fill out their matching gift form and mail it signed with your gift.
Memorials and Honorariums
Is there someone you would like to honor in a very special way? You may make a gift to the Sisters in memory of or in honor of someone. When making a gift of this type, please include the following information:
- Name of the deceased or the person you are honoring.
- Name of the person to whom notice of this gift should be sent with their address, city, state, and zip.
We will send an acknowledgement to the surviving family or the person being honored, mentioning the name and address of the donor, but not the amount of the gift.
